"On January 1, 2024, the new concert organ was inaugurated at Musiikkitalo Helsinki. The French organist Olivier Latry performed the opening concert and presented the impressive instrument to the public for the first time. The organ was built by the Austrian company Rieger Orgelbau and designed by the artist and organ designer Harald Schwarz. With 124 stops on four manuals and pedal, it is the largest organ in Finland and Scandinavia. A special feature is the sculptural façade, where some of the wind tunnels and pipes are visible, giving the organ a unique visual appearance. A key detail of this façade is that all the curved pipes sound. The instrument was completed in the fall of 2023."

Aufgrund der aktuellen politischen Entwicklungen in Europa

Aufgrund der aktuellen politischen Entwicklungen in Europa und der zunehmenden Fokussierung der EU-Politik auf die Eskalation des Ukrainekriegs habe ich mich entschieden, die Umsetzung meines Kunstprojekts „Experimentelle Stalin-Orgel“ auszusetzen. Dieses Projekt war als klangliche Transformation eines militärischen Symbols gedacht – eine Umwandlung von Kriegstechnik in eine Klanginstallation für den Frieden. Doch in einer Zeit, in der immer mehr Geld und Anstrengungen in die Militarisierung und nicht in diplomatische Lösungen fließen, erscheint mir die Realisierung dieser Idee als fragwürdige Provokation statt als friedensstiftender Impuls.

Kunst sollte Denkanstöße liefern und neue Perspektiven eröffnen. Doch wenn die öffentliche Wahrnehmung zunehmend von Kriegsrhetorik durchdrungen ist, droht selbst ein friedensorientiertes Kunstprojekt instrumentalisiert zu werden.

Daher bleibt die „Experimentelle Stalin-Orgel“ ein Konzept – eine Mahnung, dass es an der Zeit wäre, nicht nur Waffen, sondern auch Gedanken in eine friedlichere Richtung zu lenken.

Suspension of the Art Project „Experimental Stalin Organ“

Due to current political developments in Europe and the increasing focus of EU policies on escalating the war in Ukraine, I have decided to suspend the realization of my art project, the „Experimental Stalin Organ,“ for the time being.

This project was intended as a sonic transformation of a military symbol—turning war technology into a sound installation for peace. However, in a time when more money and effort are being poured into militarization rather than diplomatic solutions, I fear that the realization of this idea would be seen as a provocation rather than a call for peace.

Art should inspire reflection and open new perspectives. But when public discourse is increasingly dominated by war rhetoric, even a peace-driven art project risks being misinterpreted or instrumentalized.

For now, the „Experimental Stalin Organ“ remains a concept—a reminder that it is time to redirect not only weapons but also thoughts toward peace.

Приостановка художественного проекта «Экспериментальный орган Сталина»

В связи с текущими политическими событиями в Европе и возрастающей ориентацией политики ЕС на эскалацию войны в Украине, я принял решение временно приостановить реализацию моего художественного проекта «Экспериментальный орган Сталина».

Этот проект задумывался как звуковая трансформация военного символа — превращение технологии войны в звуковую инсталляцию во имя мира. Однако в то время, когда всё больше денег и усилий направляется на милитаризацию, а не на дипломатические решения, я опасаюсь, что реализация этой идеи будет воспринята скорее как провокация, чем как призыв к миру.

Искусство должно побуждать к размышлениям и открывать новые перспективы. Но когда общественное обсуждение всё больше пронизано военной риторикой, даже миротворческий художественный проект рискует быть неправильно истолкованным или использованным в иных целях.

На данный момент «Экспериментальный орган Сталина» остаётся концепцией — напоминанием о том, что настало время направить не только оружие, но и мысли в сторону мира.

to a possible reality. The methodical decomposition of the real into individual parts - reduction of colour - a composition in black and nothing (white). The resolution is arrangement and unit of measurement. Furthermore, I see the portrait not only as an image of a person, but as a socio-critical document. A selfie generation.

In his 1921 essay, the philologist Roman Jakobson defines the term realism on the one hand as ‘an art movement with the aim of reproducing reality as faithfully as possible by striving for maximum probability’ - which corresponds to the systematic term - but on the other hand also as ‘the sum of characteristic features of a particular 19th century art movement’. Jakobson also illustrates once again that the concept of realism depends not only on the intention of the artist, who conceives his work as probable as possible, but also strongly on the individual perception of the viewer in the historical context.
